Van Buren County Hospital and Medical Clinics is a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital with five Rural Health Clinics located in scenic Van Buren County. The hospital is affiliated with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics (UIHC) and hosts 15 specialty clinics on a monthly basis. The hospital was designated by UIHC as its Southeast Iowa Heart Center.
The county has many opportunities for outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking, fishing and scenic drives. Lacey-Keosauqua State Park, Iowa’s largest state park, and Shimek Forest, Iowa's largest state-owned forest, are both located in Van Buren County.
The county consists of several towns known as the “Villages of Van Buren.” Keosauqua, the county seat, boasts the oldest courthouse in continuous use in Iowa. Homes and buildings listed on the national register of historic places can be found throughout the county. Bonaparte was one of five winners nationwide of the "Great American Main Street Award.” Many antique and craft shops operate throughout the Villages. Several artists and craftspersons have their studios here.

Van Buren County Hospital is accepting applications for a Dietary Manager. The Dietary Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities of the Dietary Department, which includes providing nutritional and attractive meals for our residents, maintaining an organized sanitary environment, monitoring supply inventories and purchasing of food and supplies as required, ensuring proper storage of food and supplies, and managing an effective food service staff. This position must ensure compliance with all Federal and State Laws rules/regulations of licensing agencies. A Dietary Manager and Serv Safe Certifications are required. This candidate will have a minimum of three years food service experience, with at least two years in a management/supervisory role, preferably in a healthcare environment. Experience operating within an operating budget is essential, as well as a strong managerial and clinical background.

Ultrasound Technologist – Van Buren County Hospital & Clinics is seeking a full-time (80 hr) ultrasound technologist with no ultrasound call. The ultrasound technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic sonographic procedures in a critical access hospital setting. This technologist will assist providers and radiologists with imaging procedures and perform exams according to the accepted protocols. Position qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, ultrasound certifications in abdominal, ob/gyn, breast, vascular and cardiac. Graduate of an Accredited ultrasound program preferred, or current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). Graduate of an AMA Accredited Radiology program with ARRT or ARCT.
