Van Buren County Hospital Offers OB/GYN Services Through New Partnership
KEOSAUQUA, Iowa — Van Buren County Hospital is pleased to announce a new partnership with Scotland County Hospital that will bring Obstetrics and Gynecological health services to patients in Southeast Iowa.
Through this partnership, Sonya See, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, and Dr. Lori Claypool, OB/GYN, will provide care at Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
See will begin seeing patients in Keosauqua on September 24, 2026, with Dr. Claypool expected to begin seeing patients soon.

See will offer a wide variety of women’s health services, including cervical cancer screenings, contraception management and family planning, gynecological concerns, menopause management, hormone replacement therapy, pre- and post-natal care, lactation consulting, endometrial biopsies, STD screenings and treatment, and care for urinary tract infections, incontinence and pessary fittings.
She also provides primary care for conditions including weight management, hypothyroidism and hypertension, as well as care for depression and anxiety.
Dr. Lori Claypool, OB/GYN
Dr. Claypool will bring additional specialized obstetric and gynecological care to Keosauqua, including high-risk pregnancy care, pre- and post-natal care, colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, minor gynecological surgeries, basic infertility care, hormone replacement therapy, wellness exams, contraception and family planning, menopause management, and treatment for urinary tract infections and incontinence.
The partnership between Van Buren County Hospital and Scotland County Hospital helps strengthen access to women’s health services for patients throughout Southeast Iowa while allowing more women to receive specialized care closer to home. Please note: VBCH will provide OB/GYN care, but labor and delivery services will not be offered at our facility.
