Maintenance Worker
Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a full-time Maintenance Worker to help our team maintain an environment that is safe, clean, and orderly. The qualified applicant is responsible for the general maintenance of the hospital grounds including use, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment such as: pumps, motors, and panels. This person will also monitor gauges, water temperature, steam pressure, and HVAC equipment, including replacing any filters and performing general safety inspections. In addition, duties for this position will include snow removal, lawn care, painting, and any needed renovations for the hospital and our three rural health clinics.
Qualifications for this position include a Class D chauffer's license, high school education or equivalent, and knowledge of industrial equipment. Knowledge of boiler operations is very desirable. Must be available to participate in an on call rotation with other maintenance staff members. The qualified applicant will also display an ability to organize work assignments, conform to health and safety regulations, work with management to document areas in need of improvement, and be flexible with tasks. Applicants with construction, electrical, HVAC, or pluming backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Pay will be commiserate with experience.
