Clinic Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
Key Responsibilities

Room patients and obtain vital signs, weights, and basic clinical information

Review patient charts and document symptoms, histories, medications, and allergies in the electronic medical record

Assist physicians and mid-level providers with examinations and procedures as directed

Perform CMA-appropriate clinical tasks within scope, including injections, immunizations, basic wound care, and specimen collection as ordered

Handle patient phone calls, relay information, and support care coordination under provider direction
-
Perform routine and CLIA-waived testing, phlebotomy, and specimen processing as assigned
-
Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, and ready state
-
Follow clinic policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
-
Support clinic operations and patient flow through teamwork and flexibility
Qualifications
-
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
-
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential recognized in the State of Iowa

Current CPR Certification (Healthcare Provider level)

Mandatory Reporter Certification
-
Prior clinic or healthcare experience preferred
