Van Buren County Hospital is considering applying for a Rural EMS Pilot Project Grant through the state of Iowa.
If received, this grant would allow the hospital to train more first responders throughout the county, as well as provide basic equipment to trained responders.
Mr. Adam Gregg, Lt. Governor of Iowa, will be speaking about this new program on February 15th at Hotel Manning. The hospital would like to invite any interested community members to attend. Whether the hospital moves forward with an application will depend largely on community interest.

Keosauqua, IA – July 31, 2025 — It was all sunshine and smiles at Van Buren County Hospital (VBCH) on Wednesday, July 30, as staff gathered for the annual summer Skills Fair — this year with a fun-in-the-sun twist. Themed “Skills Are a Beach,” the event combined hands-on clinical training with festive beach vibes, creating a vibrant atmosphere that emphasized learning, teamwork, and celebration.

Van Buren County Hospital would like to welcome Dr. Cheryl Quinn to the VBCH Clinic. Dr. Quinn will begin her work in the Keosauqua clinic on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday to start. In the future you may see her in other VBCH Clinics.
