Position Summary
The Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures within the scope of licensure to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to safety and detail, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities

Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging based on physician orders and radiologist direction

Apply knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques, protocols, and radiation protection practices

Explain procedures and obtain consent from patients for exams and intravenous procedures

Utilize PACS and maintain accurate dosimetry reports and documentation

Assist with scheduling exams and equipment servicing/maintenance

Support state inspection reviews and maintain compliance with regulatory standards

Participate in quality assurance activities and recommend improvements

Take call rotation (evenings, weekends, holidays) as assigned

Assist physicians and schedulers with radiologic procedures, including CT training if not already certified
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology

Registered and certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

Iowa Permit to Practice Diagnostic Radiography (or eligibility)

CPR certification required

Ability to maintain continuing education as required by ARRT and Iowa Department of Public Health

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide compassionate, safe care
Schedule & Benefits

Full-time, non-exempt position with set shifts: Mon, Tue, and Wed from 5:30 pm to 6:30 am and rotating holidays

Under the supervision of the consulting radiology associates and staff physicians, the Radiological Technologist is responsible for performing Radiologic procedures within their scope of licensure. Direct accountability for the department is the Patient Care Administrator and follows organizational chart to the board.
