Patient Insurance Representative
Van Buren County Hospital is seeking a Patient Insurance Representative to join our Business Office team.
This position is responsible for insurance billing, claims processing, payment posting, denial follow-up, and accounts receivable activities that support the financial health of the organization. The role works closely with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to ensure claims are processed accurately and timely.

Primary Responsibilities
- Process and follow up on hospital claims and billing activities
- Work with insurance companies regarding claim denials, payments, and coverage questions
- Assist patients with billing questions and account concerns
- Process patient payments and insurance payments
- Support self-pay collections and payment arrangements
- Maintain accurate patient demographic and account information
- Assist with insurance verification and related documentation
- Copy and provide medical records and billing information as authorized
- Maintain patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance
- Assist with additional Business Office duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous healthcare billing, insurance, patient accounts, or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency required
