Emergency Department Advanced Care Provider (NP/PA)
This full-time position provides coverage aligned with departmental scheduling needs and is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions. The ACP works under the clinical supervision of the Emergency Department Physician and collaborates with nursing staff and ancillary departments to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Primary Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning

Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing

Perform procedures within scope of licensure

Stabilize patients and coordinate transfers when necessary

Collaborate with the Emergency Department Physician and interdisciplinary teams

Document care accurately in the electronic medical record

Participate in quality improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives

Maintain compliance with hospital policies and applicable regulations
Qualifications
-
Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of Iowa (or eligible)

Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)

BLS and ACLS certification required

PALS preferred

Emergency Department experience strongly preferred

Ability to manage extended shifts in a rural emergency setting
