Operating Room (OR) Manager

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate best practices for OR, CS, PACU, and Treatment Room services

• Maintain and update departmental policies and procedures

• Participate in and support hospital-wide Performance Improvement initiatives

• Lead and participate in required departmental and hospital meetings

• Establish orientation programs and annual competencies for staff

• Provide staff evaluations and ongoing developmental feedback

• Conduct regular rounding with department personnel

• Maintain strong working relationships with surgeons and medical staff

• Manage departmental budgets and analyze trends for capital and supply needs

• Obtain quotes and oversee purchasing of equipment and supplies

• Promote departmental services and evaluate opportunities for growth

• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program

• Current RN license in the State of Iowa (or compact state)

• BLS Certification

• ACLS Certification

• PALS Certification

• BSN required or willingness to obtain within two years

• Leadership and surgical services experience preferred
