Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg

Van Buren County Hospital is hiring two full-time Med/Surg RNs to provide exceptional care for acute and chronic patients.
Choose from two fixed day-shift schedules:

• Mon–Wed, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

• Tue–Thu, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.

Essential Functions

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for a diverse population.

• Safely perform nursing procedures, administer medications, and respond to emergencies.

• Educate patients and families on disease management, treatments, and discharge planning.

• Document patient status and care plans in the electronic health record.

• Coordinate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality outcomes.

• Promote VBCH’s cultural values through professional, patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Current Iowa RN license or compact state license.

• BLS certification required; ACLS required or willing to obtain.

• PALS/TNCC encouraged or obtainable within one year (for cross-training to ED).

• Strong communication and critical thinking skills.
