Radiology Technologist - Weekend Package

Primary Function & Positional Purpose
Under the supervision of the consulting radiology associates and staff physicians, the Radiological Technologist is responsible for performing Radiologic procedures within their scope of licensure. Direct accountability for the department is the Patient Care Administrator and follows organizational chart to the board.
Positional Essential Functions
Essential Functions
- Perform high quality diagnostic imaging for aid in diagnosing patients while working with physician orders and the radiologist.
- Demonstrate knowledge of radiographic exposure techniques and protocols. Practice radiation protection using beam restrictive devices, patient shielding, and appropriate exposure factors.
- Schedule appointments, after discussion with director, for servicing and/or maintenance on x-ray and equipment.
- Understand and use the PACS system.
- Make interdepartmental decisions after discussion with Administration and Radiologists.
- Maintain Dosimetry Reports and obtain Radiologist sign-off.
- Explain preparation of procedures and consent forms to patients.
- Perform general Radiologic procedures as directed by physicians.
- Provide protection in accordance with safety standards and assume responsibility for designated areas and procedures.
- Willing to learn CT if not already trained.
Pay and Incentives

Hourly rate: $41.30 – $63.00 (includes 50% weekend staffing premium)

Annual attendance bonus: Opportunity to earn up to $5,000 each year based on meeting attendance requirements. This program replaces a portion of standard PTO accrual.
Qualifications
Education, Certification, & Experience Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Completion of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.
- Registered and certified as a Radiological Technologist (ARRT).
- Currently hold an Iowa Permit to Practice Diagnostic Radiography.
- CPR Certification is required.
- Must maintain continuing education standards to meet requirements of the Permit to Practice as set by the Iowa Department of Public Health and the ARRT.
