Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and disinfection throughout assigned hospital and clinic areas.
- Clean occupied patient rooms and clinical areas while respecting patient privacy and minimizing disruption to patient care.
- Perform discharge and terminal cleaning to support safe and timely room availability.
- Clean and maintain restrooms, waiting areas, hallways, offices, and other public spaces.
- Perform routine floor care, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and spot cleaning.
- Identify and clean high-touch surfaces according to established infection prevention procedures.
- Collect and properly handle waste, regulated medical waste, and soiled linen.
- Follow isolation precautions and established procedures to prevent cross-contamination.
- Safely use hospital-approved cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, personal protective equipment, and EVS equipment.
- Respond to spills and other environmental cleaning needs in a timely manner.
- Identify and report safety, maintenance, equipment, or environmental concerns.
- Complete assigned cleaning schedules and quality expectations.

- Ability to successfully complete required orientation, training, and competency validation.
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, supplies, personal protective equipment, and Environmental Services equipment following training.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, coworkers, and supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
