Food and Nutrition Supervisor (FNS)
The Food and Nutrition Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Food and Nutrition department, including meal planning, preparation, inventory control, and regulatory compliance. This is a working supervisor position that supervises staff, supports scheduling, hiring, and performance management, and ensures food service operations are safe, efficient, and meet quality standards for patients, staff, and visitors.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure sustainability of departmental policies, procedures, goals, and standard of work for the Food and Nutrition department
- Plan daily operations including scheduling, prioritization of work, and ordering of food and supplies
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including food quality, temperature control, and presentation standards
- Maintain sanitation, infection control, and cleanliness standards across all work areas
- Supervise, train, and support Food and Nutrition staff to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective operations
- Assist the Support Services Manager with hiring, scheduling, performance evaluations, discipline, and other personnel matters
- Ensure all staff are properly trained, equipped, and maintaining required documentation and tracking forms
- Communicate clearly with staff to ensure accuracy of patient dietary orders
- Reconcile daily cafeteria revenue and verify cash handling accuracy
- Verify deliveries and ensure accuracy of food and supply invoices
- Assist with development and ongoing management of departmental budget (personnel, food, and supplies)
- Coordinate menu planning with dietitian and ensure compliance with dietary requirements
- Ensure high levels of customer service for patients, staff, and visitors
- Support catering and special events as needed
- Perform duties across kitchen, tray line, cafeteria, and dish room as needed during staffing shortages
- Support cross-training across the Support Services department
- Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement opportunities for departmental growth and revenue

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CFSM certification required
- CDM certification required (or must obtain within 180 days of hire)
- Supervisory experience preferred
