Richard Nichols
My name is Richard Nichols, and I moved to Keosauqua in 2008. I have two wonderful daughters Josephine (Joey), 12 and Scarlet, 8. I am married to an amazing woman Jaimie. I have been at First Iowa State Bank for the last 14 years and am currently an Executive Vice Present and branch manager of Keosauqua and Cantril.
I am humbled to join the board of trustees and the VBCH team. I feel I can provide value as I spent a considerable part of my life in the hospital with Cystic Fibrosis (CF.) My parents had 4 kids and three of us had CF. My oldest sister passed away from the disease at the age of 19. In 2010, I was blessed to receive two transplanted lungs from 16-year-old woman killed in a car accident in Chariton. Every day I feel a tremendous sense of gratitude for everyone in my life that gave everything for me to be here today. I owe so much to countless medical professionals that worked, and continue to work, to save my life. Serving on the VBCH is my way of attempting to begin to give back to the world that has given me so much.
