Medical Technologist

Van Buren County Hospital & Clinics (VBCH) has a full-time, night shift opening for a Medical Technologist.

Come and join an amazing team! At VBCH our MTs get to practice a wide range of skills. Responsibilities include: performing laboratory tests in the departments of hematology, chemistry, blood banking, and serology; performing routine and special laboratory testing; recording and reporting test results, especially critical or alert values, within established turnaround times. Our Technologists also perform specimen collection which includes handling, processing, and testing following established procedures. In addition, they are responsible for making sure that our equipment operates efficiently and accurately. Our Technologists perform daily quality control and proficiency testing, as well as handling preventative maintenance and/or calibrations. 

Most importantly, our Technologists provide high quality, patient centered care. Applicants must enjoy working with patients as an important member of the care team. Attention to detail and a desire to continuously help VBCH improve are a must. 

This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.  ASCP, NCA, AMT, MT (AMT) or MT (HEW) certification is  required.  Applicants with at least one year of prior laboratory experience will be given preference. This opening is for the night shift and will include some holidays and weekends. Must be willing to share on call responsibilities.
