Medical Laboratory Technologist

Van Buren County Hospital & Clinics (VBCH) has a weekend package, or full-time night, medical laboratory technologist position available.

Responsibilities would be to perform various laboratory tests in the departments of Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Banking and Serology. Perform routine and special laboratory testing, recording and reporting of test results, especially critical or alert values within an established turnaround time. Perform specimen collection, handling, processing and testing following established procedures. Perform instrument preventive maintenance, and/or calibrations. Perform daily quality control and proficiency testing. Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology with one (1) year hospital clinical laboratory experience is preferred, but not required. A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science is required, as well as ASCP certification or equivalent.
