Attached to Van Buren County Hospital, Village Terrace is designed to provide housing for people who require assistance but not at the level of care provided in nursing homes and extended care facilities.  It is meant to fill the gap between completely independent living and a 24-hour care facility.

Village Terrace has ten assisted living units, all handicapped accessible.  Each unit has a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator and two burner stove, living room, bedroom, and bathroom.

The units surround a glass enclosed courtyard, which contains a Japanese garden. 

The commons or shared facilities area includes a laundry room, tub room, dining area, library, entertainment area and a large kitchen equipped with appliances for baking.

All residents have lifeline units to provide ready access to hospital emergency services when needed.
